Childrens Health Ireland at Temple Street is the Centre for Neuromuscular clinical trials in Ireland. We have a dedicated Neuromuscular Clinical Trials Research Team including primary investigator, clinical trials nurse coordinator, clinical trials pharmacist and research physiotherapist. We are currently involved in a number of Clinical Trials for in patients with neuromuscular diseases including Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Ruth completed her undergraduate training with an Honours Degree in Intellectual Disability Nursing in Trinity College Dublin in 2014 and then went on to complete a Higher Diploma in Children’s Nursing in Dublin City University in 2017. Ruth worked as a staff nurse in residential services in St Michael’s House, caring for individuals with intellectual disabilities for 2 years. She then worked as a neonatal nurse in St. Michal’s B. Ward and High Dependency Unit in CHI at Temple Street for 3 years, caring for infants with complex medical and surgical needs.
Ruth undertook the role of Neurology CNM2 in 2020 for one year before taking on the role of Neuromuscular Clinical Trials Coordinator and CNM2 in June 2021. Ruth is coordinating and nursing on a number of active clinical trials for patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, along with a number of upcoming clinical trials which are currently in the pipeline phase.
